very recently removed them from the denominator
@D1 so PTO and holidays negatively affect your utilization?
Can confirm. Take a day of PTO, work extra the rest of the year to get that utilization back up to where it was.
That part is actually what really gets me annoyed. Email comes through before holidays to respect people's time off - when the firm doesn't and will expect you to make up that time later.
It does not consider firm holidays. It's 2080=52*40
I stand corrected then. I've always said: PTO is not time "off", it is time "shifted around".
Lamest shit ever. It's like, you've 25 days of PTO but if you take any, you'll be penalized.
The holidays thing pisses me off more than PTO does, especially since they made such a big deal about how they gave us extra firm holidays this year
PTO and holidays have no effect on utilization at Accenture.
Removed from denominator here
They count against us flat out. Just the same as being unstaffed. It's ridiculous.
The year is 2080 hours. You do the math.
Ah yeah that's how ours was for awhile Dumbest shit ever
Yes. Performance based on a 2080 hour year (maybe 2000, can't remember), regardless of time off. That number though considers firm holidays.
never understood how you could so blatantly create an inverse relationship between variable compensation and work life balance
They removed PTO from the denominator for us but then shifted the utilization targets much higher so essentially it's the same thing.
Deloitte targets for staff are 85-95%. So high targets and no breaks for PTO and HOL.
Deloitte UK has much more reasonable utilization targets. Though from what I hear, that doesn't always stop people from working crazy hours...
@K2 but let's say if over the course of 100 days that you've been on a project you took 25 days PTO, your old formula's utilization would be 75%, whereas with the new formula it would be 100%. So the increase in target utilization doesn't matter for a fully utilized resource? Please help me understand
it seems all too favorable and reasonable of a switch in utilization calculation
