How exactly would someone be terminated for cause in the big 4? Like does each partner get a vote based on number of shares? It’s not like there’s a central “boss” as per traditional companies.

You don’t need every partner to agree to fire someone. You only need a partner and hr.

like

I think it may depend on level. Lower levels only a partner and HR. But at partner level I would imagine it’s different

like

So any partner can fire any employee as long as HR signs off? Like if an advisory consultant works out of a different office for a week and maybe curses on the phone which pisses off a consulting partner, the consulting partner can just fire him despite the different office and different firm?

Lol OP you are screwed dude, why would you speak in foul language in front of a partner? It shows a lack of respect and integrity. Not to mention that he’s now probably worried that you speak to your clients like that. Stupid move

And yes, he can have you fired from your job

Yes a random partner can fire you. However, I doubt it ever happens. More likely is that the partner you pissed off will find out who your partner is and tell them you’re awful

No one will fire you for cursing. Worst case you have a meeting about your language. The offended partner should lighten up.

I've seen a partner outside of the office cause a staff to get fired (he was the scapegoat). He found a job at a B4 immediately.

Am I good enough to join MBB? I am a degree apprentice for a big 4 consultancy, with 1 day off for study (management degree with the Open University). Once I complete my degree, I hope to join either McKinsey, Bain or BCG as a generalist. I will have 4YE working as a (non-strat) analyst. As I see it, my greatest obstacle will be getting an interview given my lack of a prestigious education/good upbringing. Grateful for any insights on how I can maximise my chances/if I have a chance at all.

Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?
