Hi fishes! Can anyone share what's the Nike recruitment process like in Hilversum location? What is the ratio of candidates getting selected to the director level interview post the hiring manager interview? What kind of values/skills do they look for in the candidate? Nike Converse Inc.

This is a long shot (but what isn’t)—I’d love a referral. Ofc it’ll be contingent on resume, but I’m halfway through the process and just want a more diverse spread. I’m focusing solely on just EB and BB but open to any MM firms that you have had a great experience with! TYIA friends ☺️

If it’s that much harder, I would be screwed if I were to get laid off right now..... I can’t get a call back to save my life.

Mm I quit my first job and took a couple months break earlier this year, so I only have experience searching when unemployed. I thought it was fine, got another job within a month of starting search but that was around April at the beginning of this whole covid mess. Not sure how it is now, probs harder

I do think having a job while searching for one in normal times is easier. You have less to lose so you come across as less desperate and you can walk away from any offers so you’re in a better negotiation position. But now, given the threat of layoffs, I’m not sure to what extent the above points help. If you’re afraid of getting laid off, you might seem desperate and less willing to negotiate hard for fear or losing the offer.
On the other hand, you’re definitely more motivated and have a lot more time to job search when you’re unemployed. Trying to summon the energy for networking and interview prep when you’re on a high- burn client project can feel next to impossible.
It is harder. I was off for 8 months once. It was an orchestrated exit after an acquisition and a long transition role. I wasn’t looking that entire time. I made a sabbatical out of it. You will spend a lot of time explaining why you don’t have a job yet.
I was also a VP at a public company. The higher level you are the harder it is. It is a pyramid. If you are earlier in your career it won’t be as hard. Make sure you have great references, and a good story. Network your ass off.
I would only quit a job without one if you have a good plan for when you are unemployed. Getting married and have a long stress free honeymoon, moving to a new city, going back to school, hiking Appalachian trail.

Thank you for that perspective. I’m glad that I’m low level in this regard, though I’d trade for that greater difficulty for that multiple in comp. of course

Didn’t read anything but the first sentence: night and day
It is much harder as you have zero leverage for negotiation or credibility as a top performer even if you were laid off due to the economy. If you have a niche skill set that is in high demand (cloud tech for example), the best approach is to start an LLC and land a contract role. This way you can just say you quit your job to make more money as a contractor and you can take your time finding your first gig because your start date is the day after you got laid off.
