Watch out for Publicis—specifically Digitas. After a few weeks there, and a couple of quiet days (client is taking their time w/comments, etc) I was told that even though I was booked for that short week, I was only going to get paid for time actually worked—the 3 daily status meetings. Is it common for a copywriter to transition into account/project management within digital marketing?

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. I keep hearing that Booth’s MBA program is rigorous (maybe the most rigorous out of M7). That said, how much more work are students expected to do compared to HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, etc.? I don’t know if this is an outdated opinion, considering a lot of MBAs are very demanding. Booth is personally my top choice for having a flexible curriculum & 2-3 days of classes. But I really want to know what to expect around the “rigorous” label. Does it mean I’ll be buried in coursework the other 2-3 days?
