Very thankful to have a week each month remote on my project. Let's be real, we don't need to be on the client site every week.
I have benefitted so much from WFH. I’ve had more time to cook, exercise, and get more sleep. The dread of returning to the office is getting to me and I hope we don’t have to return to the office again soon.
Glad to know Mayor Lightfoot is sending her kid to school in person and yet Chicago Public Schools are remote. https://twitter.com/fspielman/status/1304105330926911491?s=21
Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts - I’ve been really struggling to adjust to long-term WFH and just have been extremely unhappy with it (feelings of isolation, burnout, hopelessness). I realize I’m not spending time on commute and such, not wearing uncomfortable clothes, but I’m still really miserable. I feel like most of my daily joy used to come from live interaction with people. I know many of y’all are really thriving on WFH and need your help / thoughts on how best to adjust. TIA!!
Any insight whether Morgan Lewis’ SF office is allowing remote work for more than 2 days per week?
Any news on when offices are going to reopen?? Will it be mandatory to be WFO. Can we opt for perm. Wfh???? Please give updates on your company policies on this matter.
Anybody else food cheat on their partners while wfh? I just had a nice bowl of ramen from my favorite place, delivered discreetly by Uber Eats. I cheated because I just wanted to eat what I feel without discussing it (used to be everyday lunch in good old days). I hope my partner doesn’t suggest takeout for dinner. :)
Sharing my Afrobeats work from home playlist. Hope it helps. https://open.spotify.com/user/fqwo55nf8ermba2pnxlabayg5/playlist/5gy3llhQ7jC520vnsmaL24?si=zCwSKXdbSda7d1HNMUCbpg
Anyone know if Martin is fully remote? Seeing some current employees who live in NY on LinkedIn, and wondering if it's a tree I should bark up.
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
Anyone get reverse jet lag? I've been flying Mon-Thursday coast to coast for the past 3 years.. that when I get the random WFH week, my sleep schedule is totally screwed up more than normal.
All of my friends and seems like everyone around is looking for a job change as I see on a average, everyone is getting close to 100% hike in new company, is this just a bubble, because hiring and job is wfh, or this trend continue even next year once the physical offices open up? I'm going through a bad FOMO, seeing everyone change companies and getting double the pay. Tried giving interviews, but many rejected me just because of my 90days notice period. What should I do? YOE-2.5
Hey 🐟, I have about $400 leftover in a WFH stipend I got from my new company. I already have all the essentials (standing desk, keyboard, monitor, etc). Any suggestions on what I can use the remainder on?
I spoke with a partner from Paul Hastings earlier this year about lateraling over, but ultimately indicated I didn’t want to be in the office 5 days a week. Now that they’ve loosened their WFH policy, how do I go about reaching back out?
I hate the city I live in but I love my agency. Since we’ve been wfh for months (and it looks like the rest of the year) I want to ask if I can continue to work remote so I can move somewhere I’m happy. Thoughts on how to approach management?
FTM here and I need to get opinions. I’m back at work remote but in desperate need of childcare. With my husband and I working from home…it’s so crazy trying to manage a 6 month old. So the question is…do you think it’s better to have a nanny or daycare. I want my son to be socialized as much as possible…but then COVID. I am also seeing that nannies are umm kinda pricey too for a long term bid. So just trying to see the general consensus
I know we all love the work from home (or do we?) but does anyone actually miss traveling for their consulting engagements and all the fun that goes along with it? The late nights at the office then the bar and random hookups and excitement and all that? Sure it’s a grind but I think I actually miss it too. Maybe I just miss seeing people at work or seeing people at all. I wonder if we’ll ever get back to that.
Anyone else experiencing toxicity in remote startup environments? Greater abuse of time and personal freedom, less encouragement of empathy from leaders, delusions of far greater diversity accomplishments, lack of clarity and communication… How to clear the air and establish structure from afar… or GTFO?
Been logging serious hours from my home standing desk. Or, as I like to call it, the ironing board. WFH life hacks.
Next $billion startup: something around onboarding/wfh/wfh setup/company benefits Twitter, FB, others are moving away from offices and the market here will be huge. Anyone want to brainstorm ideas?
Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂
Are EY recruiters the type that ghost you after your final interview? Or can you expect a reply of some sorts?
For those of you with United Global Services... I've heard the earning requirements are at least 100k flown miles and about $50k in spend. Curious what you all had when you were invited.
Women! Do u think you are at par with your male peers in terms of salary and title? If so, how have you negotiated that?
Thinking about buying a house/condo. Single here. I have about $70K in savings and stocks combined. $110K in 401K, no outstanding loans and credit card balances. I am comfortable paying up to $1800/month for mortgage. Looking for suggestions on my readiness to become a home owner.

Anyone in Big4 audit financial service (Pittsburgh or NYC)? 3 years of experience from a mid-tier firm, CPA , looking for referral.
I have been offered a position at PwC AC. Wanted to know as to what all details are checked in BGV?
Currently interviewing with Google and working with a recruiter in a specific function, is it frowned upon to keep applying to stuff if it’s relevant to my experience (outside recruiters function)....
Remind me what it’s like working for a firm where people know how to use technology? Nobody at my firm knows how to use zoom. They don’t know how to share a screen. So they use their phone camera and it’s lopsided and shaky.
I have heard that the interview invites for MBBs FT recruiting go out today. Anybody heard of a time range to shoot for? I'm probably going to be a nervous wreck the entire day anyhow. (Tags: McKinsey, Bain, BCG, M7, MBA Recruiting)
Have an offer from an IBank but don’t want to switch. Salary is 3x my current - how should I leverage it? Will they fuck my case for future promotions if I do leverage it?
Anyone exit from MBB into healthcare VC, either at a firm or corporate venture arm? Would love to know when you exited, how you found the role, and pros / cons
I went to excellent schools, passed all my cpa exams the first time around in 3 months, got a job at a Big4, work on the biggest client in my office. Yet I constantly feel like I don’t belong cont...
Anyone wants to buy PlusPoints that are valid till end of month? There should be a market for this..
Would you leave a good project with guaranteed growth, good manager/leadership, good wlb for a role with a substantially (+40% of current) higher salary, uncertain wlb (60-80hr/week)
