Yeah I'm in the same boat. People seem to say the benefits are still worth it, but I've got another card with similar benefits. Maybe I should go calculate the cost/benefit analysis right now...
What is csr
D1, that calc seems high. My break even is 280/mo.
CSR-280 x 12 x 3 =10,180 redeemed @ 1.5 = 15,120 or $151.20. breaking even on annual fee
CSP = 280 x 12 x 2 = 6,720 redeemed @ 1.25 = 8,400 or 84 dollars. Losing money on AF and still 67 dollars away from reserve. More than difference in their AF's
Still got* 43k left.
And it's super easy to hit D3's break even point here
Shadow perk of not getting lunch reimbursed?
I’m going to cash in next years benefit and ask for prorated fee refund
I did a spreadsheet. Long story short, you will beat out the CSP and Chase Freedom Unlimited if you spend $4800 or more (of which 300 is the travel credit) on food/travel over the course of a year.
CSR = Chase Sapphire Reserve ($450 annual fee); CSP = Chase Sapphire Preferred ($95 annual fee)
What makes the CSR better than the CSP?
I keep mine. Easily outperforms the CSP. There are great options out there for non chase people but I’m locked in and prefer not to track across multiple accounts
D3 that looks right; seems like d1 forgot about the travel credit. That's a really low break even point haha. Thanks for sending the numbers over! I knew I could count on delegating the work to you fellow fish
I got the 100k bonus last year and then stretched to add another 50k. Redeemed all of those in vacation tickets. Still for 43k. Wanted to sign up for CSP and get 50k bonus but then I’m not eligible for that bonus being a sapphire customer. You have to be 24 Mo th our to apply for CSP and get 50k bonus. Any other cards worth it or keeping CSR is wise
OP, I plan on keeping my CSR while I have my stash of points. Just signed up for the Uber card as it's earning categories, combined with no fee make it slightly better for me than CSR. Plus I'm diversifying cash back with pts.
I think I’m the only consultant without a CSR card... has the shine worn off or the value not worth it in the long term? Please educate me.
Does anyone know how to get free WiFi on a Delta flight?
