I gave interview in Amazon and cleared all the rounds , then went on hold and still on hold due to hiring freeze in that departement. HR does respond and update me when reached out.
Interesting thing which happened here is iam cracking each every product based interviews now after my tough preparation for Amazon and getting higher packages than what Amazon would give. So whatever happens , happens for good. Cheers Amazon

If theyre a senior theyre probably planning to leave
They probably have something going on behind the scenes. Try to casually bring it up I conversation like oh you have seemed stressed is everything ok? Sick family members, roommate/relationship drama and plain tiredness can sap your energy. Especially if it’s someone who would cover for you if the roles were reversed make it clear you aren’t upset they’re slacking, just concerned about their well-being
Can second this. Caring for a mom with cancer completely destroyed my energy and took up all my time after 7 (meal/bath/night wakings). I used to be able to have that time for work. The problem is our job isn’t meant to be done in 8 hours. We all work more/late. So you can really see the effect in your work when you have 0 time beyond your scheduled time and distractions all day at home.
Probably waiting for their background check to come through for that other job. If someone was pretty good and is now just phoning it in, either somethings personal is going on or their leaving soon. With this job market I suspect the latter.
Rip the bandaid off and tell them your observations. Do it politely and do it over a call or in person if possible. Offer to listen to their issues and give earnest advice.
We are both seniors so I don’t have much authority here
