How to handle the direct asks at your review about making partner/goals for future with the firm at a more senior level (great past reviews) when you aren’t sure? My firm is fine and I like the people but typical biglaw and I’ve been actively looking to move in-house. Don’t want to flat out lie and say I’m all in but of course would never say I don’t want to make partner, especially in this economy.

Welp! Finally got the axe today too. I didn’t even get to talk to my manager. One of the execs I support told me he’s very sorry and I was great, etc etc, but it couldn’t be avoided. Whatever. I kind of never want to work again. I’m heartbroken.

I currently have my EAD based on my OPT with an addition 2 year renewal. I have also submitted a marriage based GC application in Nov 2021, did my biometrics currently waiting on my interview. I have an offer from a tech company and want to leave my current employer. I am worried if I tell my upcoming employer about being currently on OPT they will freak out and take back their offer even doh I can work and don’t need their sponsorship.

I was hired within the last year as a site supervisor. I did well my first few projects with the company. They asked if I’d be interested in transitioning into a construction manager role. I agreed. Question for funds folks, since no one is around to answer any questions and I can't seem to find this answer anywhere. Why can't a placement agent combine or integrate the offering of interests in the sponsor's fund with the contemporaneous offering of interests in another fund? Big law literally saved my life. I was working for the government and being sued by creditors and in a deep, dark place. I wasn't even able to afford my Ube transfer application on my own. I've been at my firm for 3 years now and my life has completely changed. I was so close to declaring bankruptcy it's not even funny.
