Why does everyone put Tech / FAANG on such a pedestal, claiming it’s better than MBB. Sure, the comp and WLB may be better, but you won’t be doing as meaningful and impactful work e.g. Govt Covid response, Gates foundation projects, industry defining projects in the space of a few months etc
What is it like being a partner ? What kind of life do you guys have ? Skill sets that can bring you to the top and things which can break your career ? I am currently a senior and wonder is it worth the grind ? At BIG 3 people become partners in like 10 years or so but big 4 it’s more like 15-17. Would it be worth hustling for it grinding 13 hours days consistently for years to become a partner at like 40-42? PwC Deloitte EY Boston Consulting Group McKinsey & Company

What does M&A consulting at big 4 look like, especially at the entry level? All my previous experience is in audit/tax and I know nothing about consulting, just wanted to try something new. I liked my finance courses in undergrad, but not sure how relevant that is. Would I have ANY transferable skills from my accounting background? Can you explain what the work is like for a new hire? Especially if you've made a similar switch?
How does LEK’s healthcare practice compare to that of each MBB firm? All views welcome, zealots and balanced opinions. I work for the healthcare team and am considering defecting. Just wondering if the grass really is greener.

Currently this may be the only country where big 4 accountants have union membership & collective bargaining agreements, so I'm curious what the motivations were and whether you feel it's been worth it https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-ey-first-israeli-accounting-firm-to-sign-collective-labor-agreement-1001195205

I’m a new MBB partner. I was heads down focused on this goal for the last few years. Now that I’m here, I’d appreciate any advice for how I should think about my early partner years. How do I figure out what my next goal should be? How should I work / prioritize differently? I would especially love to hear stories of how other partners approached their first few years. Thanks in advance!
I got a $8,000 raise for year end and promotion, and no bonus. I just got written offer from other big 4 for 40k more then I am making at Deloitte.
Big 4 -> Software Sales? So I actually start in advisory with a diff b 4 firm tommorow as an experienced staff, I got contacted by a company that sells accounting software mostly close automation etc. they have big clients and got series D funding, I think I’d be a good fit but I don’t know how to judge these huge life decisions when they come so quick. I don’t HATE what I do now but I hate the cpa stuff and I think I might leave, thoughts?

I don't want to get vaccinated. I have debilitating anxiety, asthma, severe allergies to everything under the sun and afraid of a reaction. I have recently recovered from Covid too. I hate how ostracized society friends work everything is making me feel about this decision, which I know is only an inevitability at this point because my family is overseas and I can't not see them for the rest of my life. Anyone else in the same boat as me? PS. If ur here to bash on me keep it moving.

Would love to hear your negotiation wins and fails, and lessons learned. One of my learnings is simply to ask. If you don't ask the answer is definitely no. My example was asking for additional equity. I got back a no, but was offered a signing bonus.
