I accepted a dream job as an HPC engineer! I’ve been an underpaid/overworked Systems Engineer for 3 years, but after months of interviews, I’ll get $15k over what I asked and great benefits. I’ll lose WFH for a month while I get caught up on the hardware, but I’ll be hybrid which I’m happy with. Posting because everyone needs encouragement to just start applying if they're unhappy. It might take a while but it's worth it! Today is the best I've felt in a LONG time.

I’ve been working for my State Farm agency as a team member for 2 years. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and health, but only make $13 an hour. I technically can make bonuses but I’m not supposed to dig into a sale and I have to send it to a sales rep (I am service and retention mostly). My boss also has me running a retired agents office until a new one is chosen (its an hour away with no pay increase or mileage pay). Also, no benefits! Should I start job searching?

What holiday party did you get?
Anyone living close to an office, got a holiday party with food and drinks, and the venue started open for them until around midnight. Our remote workers got a one hour party w a DJ and trivia that let you win gift cards. Yeah it was nice to win a gift card but I found it lame in comparison to hanging out with my team in real life.

How are folks handling the address on your business cards? I recently took my first officially remote position. I'm in the same region as one of the company offices, but not especially close and not officially associated with it.
