I accepted an off from PWC AC center and the starting starting is 56k, I have a friend that works for EY and his starting salary is also 56k so I guess my question is are the AC centers becoming more integrated with the main audit engagement team and no longer considered a service center like I’ve been reading online? Thanks for all your input in advance!

I would say they are becoming more integrated but you will not have the same experience working for the AC vs core engagement team

like

I would honestly just do one busy season and then try to get on a regular engagement team. We have had people jump from AC to our team before. If they say no or they tell you you need to wait a couple of years, I would advise you to go to another big 4. AC centers treat you horribly. The faster you get out, the better

like

Are you in the offshore AC? If so, you would either be considered an RTM (remote team member) or part of the COE which is another service center of sorts. These teams are not closely integrated with the core engagement team, but we do collaborate in planning and scoping of our respective areas.

Ok then you would just be considered an RTM

Get one or two years in on that team and then switch firms for a staff job in core audit.

On the advisory side, it is more integrated like Core. Assurance it is still a step or two behind. Excellent Wlb (40 hours per week) in advisory and very team oriented. You will be working on big clients and will have plenty of exits options. Salary will be 15-20% less and at SM/Director level less by 25-30%.

Yes, the AC is more integrated with the core team. We refer to them as remote team members (RTMs). In reality we are all RTMs in the WFH environment. We treat them the same as the other associates on our team.

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?
