I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

awesome! you sound pretty driven, so you can take things to the next level by knowing what you want. It's good when you apply for a job and say I want that job than just casting a wide net, although that's acceptable cause that's what new grads do. What industry might you want to get into, as a Mech PE/EIT? I'd recommend process engineering, automation. then you apply directly to those companies. Food and beverage needs killer mechanical engineers, apply to Berry Wehniller design group if they have an office near you and you can find a facilities job. if you want to get into power plants, apply to Kiewit. Here are other good market segments for Mech PE: Oil&Gas (Exxon, HESS), Water/Wastewater (stantec, Arcadis), Semiconductor (Texas Instruments), notice I didn't really mention HVAC but if that's what you want to get into, many many good engineering firms in your city. Oh Data Center, apply to Burns N Mcdonnell, good company, great place for you to ground running with career, lmk if need more inspiration
Get some resume help if you’re struggling getting interviews. Since you have internship experience, you are well set to land a job. Engineers are typically not great with writing, so a little help can really boost a resume.
I also suggest just taking the FE asap. If you are somewhat competent with the material, you should be able to use the reference manual to get through the exam with a passing score. I was a ~3.2 gpa student and took and passed the FE before senior year. The problems I didn’t know how to solve, I was able to use the keyword search during the exam to find the relevant formulas and fumble through to an answer that was given as a choice most times.
Congrats on getting your degree. Having internships on your resume is a great start.
- Your school should have career development office. Use all of their resources - resume writing, mock interviews, etc.
(you already paid for it with tuition)
- Network. Reach out to your classmates, former coworkers/managers (from internships). If you do not have their contacts, you can find them on LinkedIn.
- Apply a lot. LinkedIn and Monster .com are pretty good. The market is a little tough. If you think you just applied to a perfect fit - do not stop and keep applying.
- If you can get your hands on some student version CAD/FEA software - get it and do as much training as possible. There are plenty of free resources. This is something you can add to your resume.
- Work with recruiters.
What type of mechanical engineering do you want to get into? If you want to get into some form of industrial profession such as power, utilities, water, etc. you may want to look into some networking events. They don’t have to be expensive but I know in the Boston area there are several professional groups that do a facility tour and dinner every month or so. It’s a great way for young engineers to meet people in the industry while getting to see some really interesting buildings or projects. Good luck.
I'd say work towards the SolidWorks certification ladder until you get at least the CSWP if you plan on doing mechanical design or any CAD in general. You only really need a cert from one vendor as the general principles carry over to others
You might want to say your state, as every state has their own niche in mech eng.
Apply to industry related trade jobs. This can provide a number of advantages
I have never seen a requirement for the FE. Have you seen one? For me it was not worth it to spend any time on the FE.
