Any good resources to learn VBA?
Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

What I know is if i can be a manager at a regular office and yet have my own start up venture(s) on various other skills, it shouldn't ideally conflict but some HR do poke in between

Do socialists actually think talk like this from Kamala Harris is actually helpful? That you need an 'equity' approach whereby people with low income or of color are helped first post catastrophe.
It's funny because I sort of agree implicitly, but Harris's phrasing makes me less supportive of it.
If I were in her shoes and I were asked, I'd say, we will help people in need, and those whose need is most dire will be a priority. In practice, that means the poor are higher priority, of course.

Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

I wish I could offer advice to actually get you into a position, but the best I can say is that the job market in IT is brutal right now. So many organizations have laid off IT employees that it's almost flooded the market.
It's discouraging, but the only thing you can youis keep putting out applications.
No one is hiring entry level for platforms anymore. If you aren’t a generalist data scientist you won’t find any software-based role. Platform experience means very little in most roles unless it’s direct experience in the system being currently used. Just ask all the Salesforce experts why it’s so difficult finding work when you’re “a certified Saleforce solution strategy demigod” and you realize that means nothing outside of Salesforce billing rates for client corporations. Or SAP or ServiceNOW etc. If you have a career option in education, it will be stable and low pay. If you’re trying to get an independent role, find a consulting company that needs specific role replacements for SAP platform work and plan on being laid off in a year as all these companies fail because they’ve been throwing money at ai and don’t understand what it is other than another thing to sell.
Are traditional consultants generalists like at MBB?
Many people are saying that companies are holding off of hiring until after the election. I’d like to encourage you however to keep trying. Hold your head up and stick your chess out. You done all the homework and prepared as you should have. Best of luck.
I can try to get you a referral, message me, I’ll see if I can help.
