I have CFP but see need for more managed account in my practice. Would it be wise to get CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) to obtain more knowledge and skills? Thank you.
I don't have anyone else who gets this, but I hit my personal goal this year in almost every category; revenue, income, AUM growth, etc. Our fiscal year ends in October and I ended the year with a bang. Just super excited and I hope everyone else knows, this business is worth it when you put in the time and effort! Edit: also passed CFP in March!
Looking to expand my knowledge beyond basic portfolio and planning but really not into full commitment of cfp. My junior advisor will be getting it. That said, what is a good way to learn/designation
Any 🐠 have a CFP? Was it worth the time investment? Trying to decide whether to pursue CPA or CFP for long-term market competitiveness. (Not looking to dedicate several years for CFA.)
I am looking to drop my series 7 and join an RIA. I’ve finally accepted that the BD environment is a terrible fit for me. I would like to join an RIA team because I’m just over 5 years in and I would like to have some mentors to continue learning from, but if I can’t find the right fit then my plan is to launch my own. Where to start looking for an established RIA? I have not completed my CFP yet.
Any advice on how to find a CFP? Or any suggestions in the DC area? Parents are thinking about retiring soon and need more advice/guidance than I feel comfortable giving
Thoughts on the CFP designation? Is it still worth considering or have stringent regulations muddied the waters? My goal is to have as many certifications under my belt as possible (to serve my clients the best I can) and I’m wondering which path I should pursue.
Anyone have success charging an hourly fee for financial planning? Considering making a jump into it, have cfp designation, but am mostly commission at the moment. Won’t be a total switch.
The only 5 people who have EVER asked me if I am a CFP... BTW I'm not... have been Millennials and gen-xers looking to start DCAing $250 a month into a Roth. Not 1 person of significant wealth. LOL
has anyone here who is CPA sat for the CFP exam as a challenge candidate? would it be beneficial / make me more marketable if I have a CPA license and have passed the CFP exam? What are job ops like?
I’m taking the CFP courses through the AC. Someone said I should sign up to become an Enrolled Agent while taking the tax planning course. Any advantage to that? I don’t want to prepare returns.
I’m looking to hire a producing FA in the Allen, Tx. Must be self motivated and willing to earn CFP. Base salary provided the first year.
Anyone taking the CFP course via College of Fin Planning? Trying to figure out last day to take the test.
Best designation for working with high net worth clientele? The CFP is obvious, but want to work my way up to it. I was thinking the AWMA. Thoughts???
The first CFP is a bunch of bull crap! Georgia over Alabama. All of the Big Ten getting shafted. WHAT GIVES??!!
Any recommendations for CFP Programs? So many options! Also, has anyone taken Series 50, I’m using STC and wondered how the exam is. Thanks!
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
I was invited to an event hosted by an insurance group. One of the three principals is a cfp but is not registered as a rr or iar. Does the cfp board let this happen?
Is there supposed to be a process to determine if a project is a good fit? Feeling as though my firm regularly throws people onto engagements who have skillsets unrelated to what the role demands
Unsure where to go post MBA graduation with offers to PwC (DDV), KPMG (Strategy), and ACN (Finance & Risk). Where would you go and why?

Received an offer for $100K salary and 0.04% equity for a post series A enterprise tech startup for a biz ops role & I have ~1 year of experience at MBB. Any advice on if this is a reasonable offer?
Deloitte Digital, 20 YOE, Specialist Master 160k, 10k sign-on, 0-23% bonus possibility. What do you folks think about the offer? Also, haven’t ever did a travel gig, in mid 40s now so wlb is important
Hired as a Director into consulting but the client wants me to become "Chief of Staff" to his functional area. Should I consider that a demotion or promotion? Didn't really sign up for staff augmentation. Large part of my team is inept and the program is failing in areas. (Paper Lion title I never really had a chance to direct anyone.)

Genuine question and attempt to understand: for those of you who are upset or unhappy about more robust efforts at diversity and inclusivity, can you explain why these efforts upset you? Or worry you?
Hi CGians, I have recently joined Capgemini Invent and working in a support project. People are already onsite from my account and in my team all people are working here for more than 3- 4 years. So my chances of getting an onsite from here seems 0. What steps can I take to get on-site in the near future or how can I see switch projects for an onsite opportunity
Does anyone here know if MBA school admissions care if you leave big 4 for smaller firm before applying? Still a global firm but smaller. If so, why?
