I am considering moving to either Denver or LA in the near future and was wondering how easy it is to meet people through mutual interests in Denver. I don't know anybody in Denver or LA, but would like to meet people who are either into racquet sports, skiing, or hiking, particularly in the 30-something age bracket. I'm thinking about trying the city out for a bit. Any advice on groups/meetups to join to get involved and see how I like it?

I think it’s easier in Denver bc people are more down to earth and spend a lot of time in social/outdoor activities. LA is tough bc of the materialism and congestion.

If you’re a golfer, it’s super easy to make friends in Denver. Otherwise, sports bars, the Denver Athletic Club, shooting range, curling club, anything that has to do with volunteering, ski clubs are all good places to meet people

There are many public golf courses that I know a lot of people go to. Personally, I don’t golf.

Population of opinion is too small on fish bowl. You can make friends anywhere, it’s a matter of how much you put yourself out there, join clubs / events etc.

I met a lot of friends in Denver through hiking groups and skiing groups.

What're some good ones to try out? I feel like Denver might be the move for me, so I'm going to look to try it out for a month or so in an Airbnb

Denver Athletic Club has a huge squash program.

Working for a senior who is beyond horrible. She talks to you like you’re stupid and makes it sound like you’re absolutely terrible at what you’re doing. She’s made 5 other associates cry during her 5 year career. Got someone fired and made another person quit. It’s known around the office that she can no longer have a female associate, because she talks down to females more than she does males. I came along and thought I could deal with it but she literally makes me want to not log on tomorrow.

Hi. I am completing my MBA in 2 months from University of Toronto. Due to family reasons I wish to move back to India( Delhi) and looking for consulting roles. I have 4 yrs of workex in Audit and about a year’s experience in VC and incubators for startups. Anyone willing to refer me for open roles for Associates/Sr. Consultants? Or which companies might be hiring right now? Thanks!

1:1 with my boss, one of the areas of improvement was: “be more vocal”.

Being an immigrant who struggles a lot with the language barrier is just super hard to digest this. I do my best, he doesn’t know how hard is keeping a Google Translate tab open on my browser all day long, he doesn’t know when people look to you because you sound “funny”. Just wanted to vent it, and say for all the leaders out there, if you want us to be more vocal, give us a chance to be heard with our own voice and truth

Being ghosted by someone who I thought was genuine. We were seeing each other for over a month (I know it’s not long), but everything went so well until he just disappeared completely for a few days. It’s not my first time being ghosted, I was ghosted by a guy who I was dating for over a year. I tell myself if I can get over that, I can get over this. But it still hurts so much right now 💔 I could use some extra support today

I’m moving to Denver with my husband and cat from Dallas. We are 39 and 40. No kids, we will both be working from home. The idea is to rent for a year and see if we like it. His sister and family live in the Central Park neighborhood but we don’t have to be around there necessarily. Where should we be looking?
