Sounds like regular 1/2nd year work to me. Stop whining and just do those jobs. And do them excellently.

Book vs street smart? Them audit streets be cold

Already talked with my partner about it. Looking at PY workpapers the people who has done the same tasks were also diverse.

In

EY 1: I am ticking a report and replying. Thats multitasking

tickmarking*

PwC 3: Yea like you said regular. You can say goodbye to Tier 1 and early promotion doing the tasks I am doing.

Are you in a large office? I work for a mid-tier firm, and we don't have 2nd year staff doing only admin work. Maybe you need to switch offices or firms.

Maybe I was not clear. I did not went to the partner directly. It was my scheduled meeting. Come on ! I am not that dumb, that would be career suicide at the firm.

No, CFA lvl 3 candidate.

Thanks for your negative comment. I am not "bitching" and I deliver high quality work. Why you assumed that? I don't see how your little on sided story compares to mine but thanks for sharing.

You crazy, EY 1. I am a fun teammate. I don't drink the kool aid.

That happens when you drink and write!

Thanks Senior 1! Tough shit

^Thank you for your comment Senior 1. Best feedback/advice.

@Baker Tilly 1he is just dumb man! Don't waste your time. He would not understand. If you oppose him he will think you are just jealous about his certifications.

haha Why do you assume I am a man?

I find it funny how many assumptions people are making here. I got advice, which was my goal. The end.

Any advice given to him is rejected. He can never be wrong. Wow, just imagine working with this person..

Read above and scrub all the negative comments posted and you'll find that I agree with some advice. Senior 1 nailed it with to only focus on the variables that you can control and forget the ones you can't. It is just a little frustrating that you career growth depends on luck and other people assessment of you. Thank you all for helping in any way. I appreciate it.

@OP your career growth does not depend on luck. You're growing at the normal pace. It's true that earl advancement depends on luck and circumstances, but it's not as if you're behind the curve. You're perfectly on track for normal career growth.

If anyone wants to be a Forensic Accountant for federal Law Enforcement in DC (not remote) PM me for a referral - Deloitte is actively hiring for this position. You’ll be working active money laundering cases alongside federal LE agents. CPA strongly preferred, some audit experience a plus too. CFE, CAMS, or other related certs also a bonus. Must be able to pass a security clearance.

Rate my offer for a business valuations/litigation & legal disputes support associate role at a boutique firm in Toronto:

- $90k + ~7.5% annual performance bonus
- $5k in clawback reimbursement

My background:
- SA1 in assurance
- Master of Accounting
- passed CFE, qualify in about half a year

- 24 yrs old

I’m thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season. My main interest in accounting has always been forensics /fraud . Also thinking of going the CFE route instead of CPA. What position should I apply to or transfer into ? Also do I look for a senior position or just an associate. Please any input will be helpful . Thanks in advance

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

Firms should really start lowering the mandatory retirement age in partnership agreements before these old out of touch partners drive the entire industry into the ground. These people legitimately think the high turnover we’re experiencing is caused by remote work and people “not feeling close” rather than insane hours and compensation 🤦🏼‍♀️.
