Are you exercising during the day? Do you shut your phone and tv off 30 minutes before sleep? Do you try reading before sleep? Are you setting your room up for optimal sleep space? Have you tried wearing a sleep eye mask?

Nice, ok. I would definitely try to remove the phone and tv from your routine for ~30 minutes prior to shutting the lights off. This can help get your brain in the right space for shutting off. That coupled with reading and eye mask help to block out a lot of the world we live in during the day, and can lead to more restful sleep.
Also one thing that helps me is to listen to some light classical music, or some pleasant white noise (waves crashing, rain pouring, whatever) for the first 30 minutes-hour of sleep. If you have a google home or Alexa you can set a timer so it will shut off after a bit. Sometimes this light noise can help distract my brain from any thoughts rattling around.
If after all of this you really can’t sleep, or aren’t sleeping enough, I’d talk to your PCP. Could be something going on behind the scenes. I would advise against weed for now while you figure it out. Weed, while it can knock you out, doesn’t often lead to restful sleep, and can mess with your dreams and thoughts pre and post sleep (personal experiences).
