Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? Completely understandable. It’s the same reason why people who get rescued from a disaster situation are often the most fearful after they’re secured-in as the rescue helicopter is about to take off… You’ve already been through the worst. Try not to waste emotion and energy on a possibility that is 100% out of your control. That said, congratulations and good luck!

Background checks cost the company money. They are annoying but most companies would not do one if they were not interested in you.

I get anxious with the background check even though I don’t have a record lol. Sometimes I even fear they’ll rescind the offer.

BA1 I have nothing to be nervous about it’s just the way my anxious brain works. I know I’m good but at times I trick myself into thinking something’s wrong.
Everything will be just fine ✨✨

Honestly, very much understandable, been in the same boat and it drove me insane. Especially with the current market and how there's this complete lack of loyalty being shown. I hope things get sorted for you quick though.

Next time please wait until after the background check clears to put your 2 weeks in
I haven't put my notice yet - just nervous about things I shouldn't be nervous about
M1 depends on how rigorous. Could be looking for criminal activity, traffic violations, credit check, tax issues, checking past references, checking your academic and license credentials. If you didn’t lie on your resume and have no serious crimes you should be ok. Some companies might have an issue with significant debt but only if you’re working close to money
I'm curious how many months was your job search?
exactly 60 days from sending my first CV to signing the offer.
