Yes. You should have. No employer is sending you too many documents you can’t just sit down and read them in a day. The fact that you didn’t is worrisome.
220 pages small print docusign. Not including handbooks. Took a couple days to read.
Why don’t you just use chat gpt to read the files for you and summarize what you need to know
It’s a really great online tool (for free). You can copy and paste the docs in there and ask it to summarize for you. Really great resource
I don't understand what prevented you from reading it. A lot of those types of forms may contain legal boilerplate that you can, in a practical sense, skim through. But you could read the pertinent material. I would agree that you should read things before signing.
Not weird, but unusual. Not many people read those documents as they are dry reading. But if you want the security of knowing what you are signing, then go for it.
As to the reminder emails, you can thank previous employees who did not follow through and sign their stuff and later tried crying foul. Nowadays, employers set those things to automatically nudge the candidate during onboarding to ensure they are legally protected.
