Listen, the interviews things are a distraction. Total waste of time considering you love the company and the role. It's time to buckle down and focus. It's not just the next 5 months, it's actually 7-8 because that's when the promotion meetings happen. Are the personal issues over? If so, jump on the PRD. Identify areas in the practice that are lacking and develop a training program to help folks get better. Also talk to your engagement lead, explain your goal of being promoted and figure out a way to take on more responsibility on the client side.

Have a candid conversation with your counselor to see if you’re on track for promotion. You need to be demonstrating that you’re already operating at the manager level. Managing teams, workstreams independently. The promotion convos should have already happened with your CCG. They would know by now. A conversation with your People Consultant could help as well. In some practice areas, they require you to have specific certifications before you hit manager level

Also, to add. I have couple of interviews lined up for Tech companies. Should I focus on those? Rather than my career here. Love the company and role but also love challenges and lifestyle of consulting. #SoConfused.

I am going into a second interview for a project coordinator position at a new manufacturing company. I have gotten information regarding the number/type of projects I’d be handling. I expect the question regarding compensation is coming up. The PC job posting listed a $82-90k pay range. If I say $85-95k how will they perceive this? I feel somewhere between $90-95k would align with my professional experience. Thoughts and input would be much appreciated!

SOS! Need to set up a lunch with a higher profile client who doesn’t drink alcohol in NYC (so food needs to be on point, and a view is preferable!). After getting promoted in Feb 2020 (lol fml) I designed and implemented a significant piece of data infrastructure that is beyond what’s expected of someone at my level. In 2021, I was not recognized for this accomplishment and a guy who knows nothing about the technology was promoted over me. It’s been a year since his promotion & the wheels are starting to come off: others are becoming increasingly aware of his ineptitude. What’s the best way to subtly pour gasoline on this fire?

My full time job (not SMU) is literally making me sick-spent time at the ER. One associate quit and another is out of full paid parental leave (must be nice, I’m not paid for doing double the work)…so I’m now expected to do the work of 3 associates. My supervisor isn’t exactly understanding, and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been searching for jobs, but it’s difficult since my background is diverse and not focused on one area of law. If I quit, how hard is it to find a new job?
