I did it. I loved my last company but I learned subtly who I was there. I was a work horse being fed peanuts and recognized the situation. Today is my first day at my new job. Sure I miss the people but I got a 40% pay raise out of it. I couldn’t be happier. Almost feels like I broke up with a toxic Ex. Know your worth friends, especially when your last company couldn’t counter and asked you to train EVERYONE on EVERYTHING you used to do.

Currently an engineer in MCOL area with 4 years experience (post graduating, not counting experience before/during college and large side gigs). Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.
