What in the world are you putting on credit cards that’s $5k+ a month, I really hope that at least includes rent
daycare, tuition, groceries, utilities and we avg that if not more.
Personally, I just get the $0 fee cash back cards and use whatever card is best for the category of spending I do. However, I am aware that I could be doing more by getting some of the higher end cards and jumping through the hoops, but that isn’t what I want to use my brain power for at this point in my life
Fwiw right now I just churn through cards for SUBs because I can hit the minimum spend requirements
I spend roughly the same. Flights Amex Plat (5x), rarely stay at hotels but use the plat as well on that. General spend (1x) goes on my delta Amex as an “insurance” to meet spend if I don’t get enough MQDs. Restaurants and groceries (4x) on CapOne venture, but you could easily do Amex gold. Ubers and Uber eats on venture (8x).
Every year or two, if there is a card with a nice sign up bonus I’ll churn through that.
Hard to suggest unless you can mention the spend category . If you’re not sure then AMEX business gold as it identifies top 2 spend categories based on spend
If your spending is mostly non-airfare/travel/office supplies, you could do one of the Citi AA cards and easily make AA platinum each year.
Otherwise I’d assume based on your job just do a Chase sapphire reserve or Amex gold card
Chase sapphire preferred and with the freedom flex and bilt Mastercard could be a nice fit.
Happy to refer you. I’ve got over 15 cards so unless you’re looking for luxury dining and travel the above cards should suit you well
