I feel like I've been self sabotaging myself at work and no idea why. Doing things out of character and less confident. Things have recently changed. New company acquired us and my role is still the same but different. New systems and procedures. Felt confident for a little while and excited about keeping my job, but made a mistake recently that was not in good character and worried about the outcome. Not sure if I should look for another job or stick it out and see.

I’ve had a bad case of work anxiety ever since I started a new job ~7 months ago. The adjustment was ROUGH. I was making mistake after mistake. I powered through and somehow got glowing reviews at year end, with people saying I’ve moved past that point.

Anyone watch the clock tick away and have this endless dread of the work day starting like me. When I wake up on weekdays I dread looking at the clock. During the day I mentally start counting down how much time is left on a 30 min break, on Sundays it’s a whole different story.

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth

When it comes to therapy do I look up a place online and make an appointment or do I need some sort of referral? Not sure if I need to see a therapist or physiatrist really.

I have been having occasional very mild chest pain once in a while. Have had a generalized anxiety disorder for a while which is now pretty mild with therapy and exercise too. Wondering if the chest..

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

I’ve been battling chronic depression for years now and have learned to recognize when I’m slipping into another depressive episode. I can feel that happening the last few days. Is the worst feeling and I feel so helpless and hopeless when it starts. Yes, I actively manage it with all off the recommended things to do, but really just wanted to unload a little here.

All of my friends seem to have surpassed me in salary over the last few years while I’ve taken a pay cut then got laid off. I feel like a loser.
