Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

There isn't enough money in the world to steal my personal time.
I have the same situation..it gets exhausting and stressful I feel like I'm a doctor on call but I do what I must and honestly I don't get paid very much...so it sucks

I feel you. As a Manager who is responsible for helping employees with their medical insurance (often during their most vulnerable moments) I’ll usually check email a few times to make sure nothing catastrophic is happening.
My rule: No responses nor work is performed after hours; skim email and flag for future review only.
One thing you can try to limit how often you touch email is to set up a max time limit per day that you spend on it. Every minute above that limit should require time spent volunteering at a family member’s event (sports, school, church, etc). That way your “penalty” is spending time with your family. Obviously, the exchange rate would need flexibility so you do not end up volunteering for 3 minutes at an event…but you get the idea.

Minor exception to my rule above: if an emergency, I will take action on that item.
