Different strokes for different folks. This question shouldn’t come off as if one is superior in every way... That’s just not the case. There are pros and cons to both. For instance, at the big 4, I enjoyed more PTO and the social aspect made it very easy to make connections. At apple, the money and stock are much better, the quality of work is much higher in my experience, but it’s more difficult work which is good and bad. There are a bunch more, but everyone chooses what’s best for them based on their opportunities.
This statement was written in 30 seconds so I came up with examples, not all of my legitimate points. Either way, it’s better than the Big 4 IMO.
Not everybody can land a job at a tech giant lol. Service companies give you the chance to build your resume. Not an end goal for me personally but some people like the challenge that comes with working on different projects across diff clients and industries. Can’t get that in industry
Your profile says you work for slalom. You are just trying to stir the pot
😂😂😂
I don’t understand this post. You work(ed) there yet question why others do the same?

OP: what’s not a service based industry? Whatever you do with the client, you provide services, isn’t it?
My bad! Was trying to hide my identity as much as possible but failed at it. So no, not trying to stir the pot. I genuinely have this question.
How stupid, I feel sad for Slalom rn
Why did you, OP?

My bonus potential at D is pretty great. My WLB is fine too. And I like the work I do. Oh and I get a ton of holidays and PTO. And pension.

D7, why are you assuming D3 is male?
I get stock options, great WLB and work with amazing people.
I have been in the industry and i got dumber everyday I worked there.
For me personally- things just move soooo slooowwwllyyy when you’re in big tech / industry (not true in my experience with startups). It gets boring and unstimulating. Right now I get to enjoy fast paced, challenging work, great pay, unparalleled benefits, time off, legitimately brilliant colleagues, and the work life balance is really not bad at all. If the equation ever changes I’ll move, but for now I’m very satisfied.
Because I like the money and the benefits are top tier compared to other firms!
I work at Deloitte and my WLB is awesome! Just depends on what group you’re in and who your project leader is

WLB at Slalom is great. Barely work an average of 24 hours a week here. Nice pay.

I have great WLB at KPMG. Pay could be better but a lot of autonomy and WLB
I like the slow pace and unlimited pto.
Because it's better than being unemployed. At least that's why I joined.
The prospects you have now, likely weren't the prospects you had then. You make the best decision you can at the time with the information and opportunities available at the time.
