Hello, it's me.

This is why I secretly avoid 1:1s with my manager!

Why shouldn’t all countries ban TikTok for the damage they are doing while harvesting all Western data for the CCP to use against us?
US big tech also needs to addressed but China’s aspirations for world domination and a totalitarian control globally is far more of a threat

Depends on what your contract allows. Some U.S. federal government agencies don’t allow contractors to access their networks or bill time while overseas. Some of them monitor IP addresses to see if any of them are coming from another country.
It may be a big deal depending on if the other government wants you to pay taxes there and then your employer would have to pay taxes there too. Could get messy if not done right. Or don't tell your employer and pretend you're working from home.
No one is tracking you. So just go. One month isn't an issue at all. I did that last year with a different country. I was outside the US for 2 months.
This is not true. Deloitte tracks you and will ping you if you’re overseas. Employees are generally not allowed to take laptop outside the states due to client confidentiality and customers generally do not want their data outside the states
I haven't personally but it seems like it shouldn't be a problem, especially with your dual citizenship. As long as you lay it all out and run it over with your manager.
Exactly
In the same boat as you and other friends in similar positions. We've all done it - personally, I hated it because the time difference SUCKS. Most of us have a don't ask don't tell kinda policy going, and no one actually seems to care where the other person is as long as you show up to meetings
My company discourages it - I know there are tax implications, but maybe just one month away does not influence that.
As long as you are less than 2 months you should be fine :)
I did, I told my manager and he was cool with it as long as I attended my meetings and met my deadlines
I haven't done so, but I know a few people who have done so without issue.
Why does it matter if the bank they're depositing your paycheck is located in the US? As long as you're not overstaying your Visa and being taxed by the host country you're in it shouldn't matter; unless you have to connect to a VPN.
Just as long as you have a valid work permit aka citizen or work visa, it should be fine.
If you work an X number of days in the UK, you will be liable for taxes there
There might be tax implications. What do you have to declare to HMRC in the UK while you reside in the US? I’m the opposite way around to you and when I do my US taxes I have to put all my dates in the US so that they can confirm I didn’t spend enough time there.
100% correct as I had to do the same while on a customer project in the UK. I think if it’s less 30 days you should be fine
Which company?
Microsoft lol
I worked remotely from Mexico while my manager had no idea, I wasn't planning on sharing with him either.
The company's IT team could've found out if they tracked my ip address but that never occurred.
As long as your work doesn't get disrupted and attend planned meetings, you should be fine
