I have a question, fellow bowlaz! I work in a small advertising agency in Oslo, Norway, and we struggle to get in contact with international ad media such as Adweek (Ad Freak) and Ad Age whenever we want to show off our creative work. Does anyone of you have a way in, or tips on how we can get in contact with media outlets like these? Cheers

Don’t get into advertising it’s a sinking ship. I know that much.

If you're looking into advertising, a portfolio would help you more than any kind of certificate. Check out The Book Shops Ads based in LA if you want to try to build a book on the cheaper side as ad schools are pricey.
Lots of people in LA agencies have been thru that program.
Yeahhhh…pivoting into advertising right now would be like a field trip to the trade towers on September 12th. Scrub through every job posting at tech firms until you find something you can plausibly apply for.
Tech firms only hire H1Bs.
I love all this pessimism from people already in the industry.
Where the hell do you people think advertising is going to go? Do you think brands are going to stop making commercials? That is never goin to happen. There will always be a need to write and create advertisements, full stop.
I haven’t seen anything that ai has made that will take our jobs in this regard. It’s a tool nothin else. It has no taste, it can’t figure out what’s good creative from what isn’t. There is a lot of shake up happening in the industry right now for sure, but there will always be jobs doing this as long as capitalism exists.
Except the industry now is based in data and tech; creative is an after thought. So yeah, there are jobs to be had, but the core is rotten.
