You just ate most of the depreciation on a luxury brand, why do you want to do it again?

Base Camry is 28k. I don’t think you have a realistic or informed view of the auto industry. Yeah dealers and port installers are scum obviously but 19k Camry? You should look at the price of a Camry vs inflation over the last 20 years, you’ll be surprised. Cars are actually moving up slower. It’s just wages have stagnated and housing is insane so the idea of a 45k car is offensive even to people who make 100k.
Yea that’s a terrible idea. You are not ready for the build quality of a Tesla (garbage esp on the cheap 3/Y). A much better idea is to go trade in for a M440i and you will have a much better time
I bought a Tesla only because it made financial sense…with $7500+$3000 incentive it was cheaper than every other car and does 0-60 faster than my bmw sedan. I didn’t want to like it because I can’t stand Musk. But now I can’t imagine ever going back to a gas vehicle. I can’t believe I ever wasted time at a gas station, let alone plan my commute around it. I can’t imagine ever having to change oil, spark plugs, or literally any maintenance ever again. The thing is basically a battery and a rotating electromagnet. You don’t even change brake pads because 90% of the time you’re regenerative braking. Like braking literally generates more miles. And a full “tank” costs $5 in electricity. And the torque curve is shaped like a box. And no matter what speed you’re going you’re always in the “right gear”. After owning one, a gas car just doesn’t make sense, bmw or otherwise
I would steer clear of all Tesla. Low build quality amd 1 horror story after another.
Tesla is the most expensive car ive owned by far even compared to my 911. Stay away
I’d lease a Model Y but never buy one
Don’t do it I went from an x3m40i to a model y and not happy with that decision. Was getting back what I paid for my x3 three years later so that’s why I did that plus to get the EV credit but wouldn’t do it again
jesus why? Thats going to be such a downgrade in your quality
Also have a Model Y and never going back to gas. The build quality is not the greatest but the tech and convenience features are unmatched. I also have had no maintenance issues whatsoever in the first few years of ownership. Once you switch from gas, it’s hard to go back and the supercharger network makes the transition much easier.
I would make the switch.
Why not get an i4 instead? It’ll feel more familiar, waaay better build and material quality, plus you get the benefits of an EV.
Great idea. I went from X3 to Model Y. Tesla is fun to drive, even better than BMW. Instant torque is a game changer. Also, no oil change for Tesla.
I had another car in between, but went from a BMW 330i (2017) to a Tesla Model Y (2023), and I am very happy with the Tesla but they are completely different cars. I do sometimes still miss the BMW for pure driving experience, I like the sound of the engine and the engagement you get from thinking about your RPM etc. (it was a manual). Plus as some people mentioned, BMW has a very high build quality.
However, for almost all other aspects, I would easily chose the Tesla. It is so simple and convenient to use, you can control a lot through the app, don't need a key, infotainment is in my opinion really good etc. Also, the acceleration is really good, and I have not had any issues with build quality at all. I have also really started to enjoy the clean interior, I almost feel confused when looking at the interior of other cars nowadays.
Get a hybrid instead.
I prefer the bmw brand tbh
I’d go M5 Comp but that’s just me
