I have an interview with Amazon this Friday. The raise will be around $50k if I landed an offer within finance. My big question really is can anyone that currently works there or has worked there in the past tell me their experience? I'm happy at EY but this raise would be super good for my family and put us back where we were before my wife became a stay at home mom. Trying to cover all my bases, you know?
Senior 2, technology, currently make $94.5k. Recruiter tells me $140k would be on the lower end if what I'd be offered, based on experience.
And what's your experience at Amazon vs. EY, setting money aside.

Are you worried about WLB? It won’t be better than here, but sometimes you have to sacrifice a couple of years for family. Plus if you go back to consulting you will command that $140k easy.

I hear it depends on team for WLB, but my friend is on a product team and works most weekends. He has two kids as well. Another buddy of mine was in sales and only worked some random on and off weekends. He has four kids. I have another friend who was also in product that worked crazy hours he asked me to help him find a job at Parthenon, but ended up going to Microsoft instead and is happier. All have already exited Amazon though. So think of it as a way to boost your salary for your next stop.
If I may ask, what type of role within finance at amazon?
That’s Mon - Friday but you will work longer hours during holidays and it typically takes at least two years to even try to move up which causes some SFA to leave or pivot out

I check every box under what they are looking for. Had a lot of jobs over my 10 year span, but all are focused around finance until I transitioned to tech consulting earlier this year.

Just to add your total comp will be more than $140. Including equity and signing bonus for the first two year. I am guessing 175-200 if you negotiate right and come in at the desired level

I received an email from Amazon on LinkedIn regarding some roles but never heard back. Was your recruiter responsive?
Funny enough i just heard back. She asked me to send her jobs I was interested and we can discuss. She asked for comp, etc. i just recently bought a house (not near an Amazon office) and don’t think Amazon does remote, so that may an issue.
