I would give it some more time but be very open with your therapist on how you are feeling. I got to the point in Lexapro where it helped with my anxiety but I needed some motivation, so I decreased my Lexapro and added Wellbutrin. I’ve taken a few different ones over the past couple of decades and my recommendation is just to be completely honest with your care team on where you are and where you want to go so they can help get your meds right in addition to the non-meds treatment. Both are important. Good luck.
Only a few years into legal practice and thinking about leaving the profession altogether. Not sure if I have the energy, skills or motivation to go back to law. Not sure what I would want to do next which is really stressful/scary. My whole life has been focused on school and now I’m left with few friends, experiences and hobbies because I wasn’t investing time in those things. I’m going to therapy and taking my meds and I know that it takes time to recover. Still crying most days over my situation. Just wondering if it should be faster or if my issues are big enough that adding/changing my meds might not make a difference.
Similar experience and P1's suggestions are good. Hang in there and don't accept this as the status quo. Your care team should have more ideas to tweak your treatment plan and keep improving. Your pain is valid, and yet, it will pass.
Following this cause I’m in the same boat, added Wellbutrin to Lexapro, because it felt like it helped the anxiety but still feeling depressed. Still evaluating how much the Wellbutrin has helped, doesn’t feel any different after 2 months already.
I tried 3 different medications before landing on Wellbutrin. Everyone’s physiology is different so it’s common to try until you find one that works. Everyday isn’t going to be sunshine, but you’ll start to have more good days than bad. It’s a marathon, hang in there.
I’m on the generic Lexapro 10 mg too. Just talked to my doctor about possibly increasing my dose. Been on it for about 5 months now. Been through a lot of what you describe. Feel free to DM me.
