I have close to 150k points on my personal Amex charge card. I am gonna close it in next ten days. What’s the best thing to do with these points? Moving projects and won’t be traveling much anymore

1. Convert to gift cards for larger purchasing you are planning to make.
• Clothes
• Home (Home Depot)
• Computers / electronics
2. Use for travel and vacation
3. Convert to cash gift cards (this is less valuable than store gift cards but offers more flexibility)

Yep airline is the way to go. I am from India. I moved mine to Etihad and got a return fare for free :)

like

Move them to an airline partner. ANA is my go-to.

Choosing Home Depot will give you a 1:10 exchange rate, ie $1,500 for 150k points. Some of the restaurant gift cards will do the same (chain restaurants, though; YMMV). Amazon, Amex gift card, specific retailers, etc) have much worse conversion rates for your points.

Home Depot cards. Keep them if you own a house or sell them if you don't.

I have used AmEx to HD cards for appliances, doors, windows, countertops, grills, and patio furniture.

I got a decent conversion rate buying a Vitamix with Amex points last year if you want to up your kitchen appliance game :)

Home Depot gift cards!

Are there any debt consolidation options for a professional family man with a decent credit score, who's let high interest credit card debt get out of hand? I am thinking something along the lines of a bank that I can talk to, and explain exactly where the money is going, not being apposed to a direct deposit to the card companies themselves.

I think it’ll somewhat improve QOL but with parking, insurance, gas and financing costs I’m not sure spending almost 1K/month is a good idea at 22.

The other problem is that used cars are so damn expensive right now so I can’t just buy a used mx5 for 5-10K
