I have my new contract negotiations coming up with my contract ending the first week of November.

I’ve been with my company for almost 10 years, but just learned that someone on the same work level as me is making way more and has only been with the company for four years and there‘s also a gender difference.

Should I bring this up? or leave it out of the conversation?

I’m in a top 10 tv market and produce a very competitive hour for news.

Definitely bring up the pay discrepancy, but I'm iffy on bringing up gender differences. It could distract from the more important issue of seniority, and the company could deflect from actually making the situation right.

Just because somebody has only been with the company for four years, doesn't mean they don't have more experience than you at previous workplaces.

I would avoid bringing it up and focus on the value that you bring to the company. Cite key accomplishments and KPIs that you're crushing.

It's definitely OK to mention market adjustments and when the last time you received a raise was. Market adjustments should be given even if you are not crushing any KPIs.

Not sure if other firms are the same, at EY we can add “🏳️‍🌈 I support inclusion” in our email sig. Most people from Unity ERG don’t. If you don’t, why not? Particularly during Pride month.

I’m a woman in my mid 20s and constantly face situations where people outside of cyber (still within the company) that I’m dealing with (older men in particular) who always push back against my cyber/technical recommendations even with managers cc’d. I studied, earned certs, and worked hard to get to where I am. Is it bc of my gender and age? In all honesty, I’ve written recommendations that male counterparts voiced in the past that had ZERO pushbacks.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

I received a job offer from company A and am currently negotiating salary. I have an interview with company B next week and know that they offer a higher base pay. There’s no guarantee that I will be offered a job at company B but my gut is telling me that company B would be a better fit for me. Got offered 68k after 2 years as a contractor (62.5k) doing project management/business admin in a tech department at a Fortune 500 bank. I have an A.S degree and working on my bachelor’s/masters may 2024. I negotiated to 84k NYC. I have seen interns get offered 38 per hour (79k) for internship positions with a similar role.

Thoughts? Should I go higher? I do my job well that’s why they decided to keep me as a contractor after my internship.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? Hi all. I just received an offer for $130k and will be eligible for about 29,000 shares of stock options. The vesting schedule is 1 year and then quarterly thereafter.
