I have two pending offers. Hoping for some insight on the WLB, Culture, benifits, leadership, career trajectory? NOT the money

Accenture: L9 - Consultant (WFH) $132K base + 27K signon. Interviewed for an M but got downleveled. (I live in a reasonable cost of living city, estimates put it 35% cheaper than Seattle)

Amazon: L6 - Sr Program Manager role (Seattle) 135K base, 70K signon over 2 years, $110K RSUs.

I’m already a manager with 5yoe, so feeling ACN is downleveling. Coming from Industry!

The culture at Accenture purely depends on your practice and project. Which practice will you be joining?

Coming from industry doesn’t count 5yrs as 5yrs, so that’s not a down level. A skilled C is closer to industry M. Our Ms exit to SM/Director.

Thanks! With total comp, I know with Amazon it may not change much over the first 4 years. With Accenture, what kind of annual pay increase, perf bonus should an L9 expect?

Definitely amazon
Run from Accenture as fast as you can

Amazon all day

I would choose based on where you want to live.

like

I’m Ex-Amazon. Comes with its pros and cons. I think in your situation, Amazon is the better fit than Accenture. I did not like Seattle for other reasons beside it being very expensive to live in. AND dont live downtown near HQ1 not the best area. Any who you’re allowed to put in a transfer to a new position anywhere nationwide after the 6 month mark, in case Seattle isn’t for you. May not keep your pay, they only pay you based on the L4-L8 within a category. So if you move from L6 Sr Program Manager of Alexa to L6 Ops Manager for Fulfillment, expect a pay cut.

like

I would suggest go for Amazon, also if you compare package and designation that is far better for you in Amazon.

I would suggest Amazon, lol but would you need to relocate to Seattle? If so, push back for a relo bonus and more RSUs.

Recently, the CEO and my boss, the VP gave me the latitude to promote myself and "write my own" job description. I've been the Marketing Manager of this company for about 7 months. Already received 1 raise.

Much of the work in my "new" job description, I've already been doing. My currently salary is $70K. New title is Director of Communications and Systems Integration. What is a reasonable salary increase here.

I have about 7 years experience in this area.

Can you all share your YoE, total comp (base + bonus + equity / stock options), location, and size of company. I’ll go first - 10 YOE, 180K + 20% + $250K in options, Atlanta, and PE backed $100M company. TIA!

For those of you in healthcare related account management, what is your healthcare background? I am clinical and getting ready to hire a higher level account manager. I am really biased toward people with clinical/in hospital experience because, quite frankly, healthcare is a different beast - lots of hand holding and change management. I don’t want to miss the right person because of my bias, so im wondering how many healthcare related AMs have healthcare/clinical experience… thanks in advance!

Additional Posts in Career Pivot

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!
