Yeah, I always do. I know life there goes on just fine without me, but it's hard to remember that sometimes.
I used to. Now I use it all without a second thought.
Nope. No guilt at all. It’s part of my compensation package.. and I don’t feel guilty about that direct deposit amt now do I?
You earned your time. Take it. Learn to take time off during the year in smaller increments. Never feel guilty!
May be easier at UHG to do that @ ACN is not always that easy
Only associates feel guilt about it 😛
It’s YOUR TIME. You earned it. It’s part of your compensation. NEVER feel guilty about taking it!
I’ve been taking the last two weeks off for several years now. No guilt! Although it’s difficult to turn off work-related thoughts.
Lol I usually take a full month off EOY and at least 4 weeks throughout the rest of the year.
One of the few perks we get is that our work is project-based and we can unplug in between. Take your time off guilt-free. No one is looking out for you but you.
I used to early in my career, but now I have zero guilt knowing the reality of my replaceability as an employee. Business will always find a way to keep moving without me there. I rarely set an OOO message now. Ignore chats/emails that come in during PTO. I’m still gainfully employed and a solid performer.
By taking PTO I think it helps, in a small way, to promote a semblance of WLB and hopefully make team members and client realize that our work isn’t the end-all be-all and should ultimately come secondary to our personal lives. Take your PTO and don’t look back. 🤙🏼
Started taking even unpaid time offs for the first time. Life is unpredictable.
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
This applies to work and your personal life.
I totally understand your pov… personally I felt the same way until a point in my career. In fact on some PTO days I went over and above to impress how flexible I am by working while my family were shusshed up in a hotel room on our vacation. In hind sight that family impact is what I feel more guilty about now. We all have sailed this boat of guilt it’s just a medium in our professional journey. Good luck and don’t bother … afik…no one cares a F
Living in the U.K., this is such a North American view (I’d even say just Us, as I know Canada have fairer policies).
It is frowned upon here if you don’t take the majority of your leave as opposed to the other way around.
