Why dont you just ask the recruiter?
Yeah ask the recruiter. As a recruiter I would have given you all the details and options. Congrats!!
I would go through with the process just to gain experience of going through FAANG interviews as they can be a totally different ballgame
Turn them down if you have to but maybe you build a good relationship with the hiring manager who can keep you in mind for something in the future
If they clearly tell you the position is remote, you block 5-8 hours off expensive peoples’ calendars for (pointless) interviews and then decline based on criteria that was clearly laid out from the outset, you have closed all future opportunities with my org. You are a time waster and will be documented as such in our HRIS. Instant black mark.
I mean worst case scenario…take the interview, see if you make it to the end…get an offer letter…use as leverage for a raise 🤷♂️
Google does do remote but it will be listed on the job listing itself. If it doesn’t say - then it’s probably not remote . No harm in asking the recruiter
I got a recruiter reached out on LI for the perfect job for me in my expertise, but it was in MTV and I am east coast. I said that this is totally my wheelhouse and I’m very interested but I’m not willing to move to Mountain View. The recruiter came back a couple weeks later and said that a manager was amenable to me working remote. Fast forward to offer stage the hiring manager decide to go with someone local but they referred me to another group that was willing to do remote and I ended up excepting the job and I’m still on the East Coast making killer money. It’s possible.
Voice dictation FTL thanks!
Not to sound negative but you literally have less than a 1% chance of getting into Google. Don't overthink it. Just do the interview and see how it goes. If you pass their recruitment process and you decide not to move, you can ask them to match you with other roles that don't require relocation.
If they were at 0.1 they already would have been working for their dream company and not posting “omgomgomg” here
Google interview result is valid for a year. You can try team matching later even if yoh turn down this position
Yes

There are a few remote jobs at google, it depends on the team and manager
If you interview, I would say you should take it very seriously. Watch the YouTube videos and prepare
I was a deployment tech for Google in the Bay Area. They established some remote jobs post Covid. I’m sure they still have some remote positions.

I don’t think anyone here is able to adequately answer your question
Did the email say they want to interview?
Have had google recruiters talk to me twice in the past but they basically send this to a hiring manager and then nothing comes off it
Yes we have the first call next Tuesday
I got through 2 interviews but because I wanted remote, we never found a match. Not saying it doesn’t happen, but they still prioritize in house.
