Publicis, do you speak any foreign languages? If you're not familiar with any and how sentence structure and grammar for conveying abstract concepts such as time can wildly vary in different languages, pipe down. I wasn't being even remotely sarcastic previously. And it wouldn't be the first time someone whose native language is not English who's posted something on here with a word off that has thrown all the comments into a negative thread. Such as the first two commenters on here.
So, no SR1, not being smug in the slightest, unlike you.
OP, congratulations and I have answered your question. In fact, if you're that much of a wunderkind and they're worried about you leaving them so they want to increase your required notice time, sounds like you have plenty of leverage to negotiate your new salary.
It will always be more somewhere else. Always. Be grateful that they are recognizing your efforts. Take the opportunity to ask them for a career path discussion. What are your expectations for future earning potential and advancement. And what do you have to do to get there. It will make you seem less like an ungrateful prick/wench.
2nd promotion in 3 months? McCann needs to figure out what they're doing...
I just checked my records. Both promotions were a clerical error, and we're moving you to Storage Room B.
OP your situation is so far from the norm that no one can even relate much less offer advice. Assuming you’re not trolling.
This is a piss poor attempt at a humble brag.
Sit down, be humble.
It’s cool. You’ll get that third promotion before the end of 2017 and that will get you to your salary expectation.
@AD Is English yours? The way this is worded has to mean the former... The latter would need to start with "I will get" or "I'm going to get" right?
This feels like fake news.
Come on guys! I was hoping for some genuine advice from peers not bitter comments!
My guess: #1: "promoted" from intern to junior. #2: "promoted" from junior to flat title (possibly because agency got rid of junior titles in that dept)
AD1 English is my native language and I mean this is my second promotion in 3 months (4th in just under 2 years at McCann)
You’re much better off than at Publicis companies. They do bare minimum for employees.
Um, why?
Oh and it’s worth adding that they want to increase my notice period (if I were to quit) to 2 months
AD1 smug as all account can be🙃
FCB1 - I am account. I just don’t want to reveal my title in case anybody can look at the promotions and figure out my identity
Honestly this doesn’t sound right at McCann. People wait three years for a promotion and salary increase. I think something is really wrong with this picture
AS1 no- definitely not. What AAE has 2 months notice?! I agree though. I think the extended notice is my key to negotiate for more
