I have a good job offer in internal audit with well known company. I am currently an audit senior with a promotion to managed next year. Should I wait? Is internal audit a good career path?
D folks: when getting a promo, are there two separate raise percentages, one for the promo and one for performance/merit, or is it just one percentage?
For those of you who were promoted internally from one title to the next, did you get a raise? If so, how did they justify the raise? Was it a percentage of your base?
Is life in the Bay Area still worth it? Ridiculous housing costs, LA like traffic, worsening infrastructure, homelessness.. I’m thinking about relocating to WA, OR or TX to raise a family. Thoughts?
Reviews are coming up. This will (hopefully) be my first promotion. Do I take what raise they give me? Negotiate? How does that work? What's the customary raise % for your first promotion?
Has an offer to join a smaller but growing firm. Will get a decent raise, but I'm concerned about the lack of delivery capability. Seems like the expectation is they want you to be able to do it all, and they brand and technical breadth is not as established. Looks to me its high risk and the reward is just the raise they offer. Anyone has similar experience can share their experience?
A consultant in my practice has been weirding out a bunch of people, setting 1:1 requests and giving unsolicited career advice/mentorship. We think she's angling for a promotion. At this point she is

If I join Deloitte mid year (Jan-Feb), what’s a reasonable expectation of the pay raise of next fiscal year since the rate will be prorated ?
I’m curious how many people discuss their salaries with coworkers? I’ve been told not to do this, but I’m thinking of asking for a promotion and it’d be great to know a baseline for what coworkers at that level make already.
Raise your hand if your company made you update your email signature and now your company’s logo has a little roof on it. I know I’m not alone.

Expecting a promotion to senior consultant this month. What can I hope to expect for compensation in Atlanta, Ga?
My friend lied and said that he was a senior and got senior job at another firm. He's lucky it's in a different city. Can you say 30% raise! He's been there a month already.
From PwC bowl. I don’t think this is a widespread thing but want to unpack the idea of it. PwC is certainly looking at staff utilization for black employees to make sure they are getting put on jobs but that doesn’t mean better jobs. There are no saved opps for minorities, like wtf. And early promotion is definitely not a thing but could naturally happen when given more opportunity. It is insane to me that someone already privileged would even think of doing this to maintain their privilege.
Not sure how consulting firms expect to retain talent out of undergrad if they barely raise pay. Left consulting after 1 year, end of 2nd year and I’m at 180k comp now with friends at D and PWC barely hitting 85. I know seniors at D not even making 100k
Can Anyone from Deloitte who checked the loophole to find out your raise before you were notified confirm if it was the same?
How is Accenture's federal practice? Thinking of switching to get promotion to Manager. Currently a senior @ PwC.
Does BCG Platinion sponsor their employees for MBAs or is that reserved for core BCG employees? Is it restricted to 10-12 top cohort people per year like in B4?
Is anyone using Social Emotional Learning and Mindfulness in their classroom or school wide? Reading a book (cover attached) and I have so many things to discuss!!!
Double dipping on severance and paycheck from new job. Can former companies even find out that you have a new job if you keep quiet?
Never thought I would be the type, but I'm so lonely and down after half a year of travel project. Major respect to those of you doing this for years 🍻
I was head hunted for a Senior Manager role at PwC and they’ve made me go through 3 interviews with 4 Partners.. All very relaxed but isn’t 4 Partners excessive for SM role?
If I’ve had first rounds with MBB at the undergrad level, will they count that against me if I re-apply at the MBA level? Is the slate, essentially, wiped clean? 🤔
Anyone have experience interviewing at a university for a staff role? What to expect? Virtual interview with the Manager, Director, and Recruiter. First round was a phone call with the Manager and she read out 5 typical interview questions.
Since my non-MBB consulting internship after grad school ended in April I’ve been actively trying to network with MBB people as much as possible. It was very successful and I was encouraged to apply as an experienced candidate for an entry role by recruiters & consultants but not before fall. I had to accept a different consulting job in the meantime to receive income and being able to work but am willing to quit anytime in case I get an MBB offer. (cont.)
There is no reason to take your foot off the gas. Leadership thinks it’s done enough because it put out a video about D&I headed by a Karen. Diversity still means white woman or Indian male. Continue to agitate. Document what your PPMD / leadership/ firm have promised about diversity & what they’ll do to support Black & African American employees. If they put out a 12 month roadmap, make sure you’re there 12 months + 1 day later holding them accountable to what was promised.
So - does anyone else work at an insurance company that has shitty health benefits? Last Dr. Visit cost me over $700 out of pocket and it was a regular check-up w/ labs???
How do MBB firms tend to fare in recessionary environments? And does there tend to be differences in performance between them and T2 firms in recessions? (Exclude any primarily BK/turn around shops).
Not counting the unlimited PTO folks, how many vacation days do you have? Trying to figure out what’s a fair ask when more money’s not an option.
If I join a company in Canada using Intra-Company Transfer work-permit (i.e. there will be no LMIA involved). Will that 1-year work in Canada still give me points for Express Entry PR?
I have an awesome college junior looking for a Marketing/Advertising/Media summer internship. Any leads for Boston, NJ, or NYC based or remote roles? In-house or agency. Thank you!
