McKinsey & Company I received an offer from McKinsey & Company in 2021 and I’ll be starting later this year after graduation. Obviously because of the pandemic, inflation is slowly trending upwards. Has anyone asked for a base salary increase before even starting the job? Any advice on how to approach this?

Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

And that's honestly how it should be. All staff 1s are fairly clueless and don't really have any differentiators
If performance doesn't dictate raises then what's to motivate someone to work hard?
I think that is how it should be. Every should get the same raise regardless. This is why bonuses were invented. To give something extra to those that went above and beyond. But that system has been ruined too.
Yeah
Forming a union over at EY?
LOL FALSE
Yeah I agree LOL FALSE
Definitely not true for the current year
If you were on 10 degrees, this is true. Every staff 1 in my office got the same raise. Even those with 20% less utilization than others 🙄
Does this mean it will be harder to get promoted to Staff 2?
This is not the care for at least advisory for the current raises, we got raises based on our rating
Maybe for certain groups. Certainly not mine.
