For the right money, I’ll go full time.
This might sound basic but you can start by letting your coworkers know you’re unavailable after work hours and stick to it unless there’s an emergency, which will condition you to avoid overworking and extending your hours unnecessarily
That’s a fair point. But shouldn’t my manager be setting those expectations with the team? Why’s that on me as a freelancer to clarify?
How did you structure your project scope with them? Is it a contract role or are you a contractor with a retainer?
It’s a value based retainer, they pay monthly
For some reason I can’t reply to your comment to mine, so I have to reply separately, but yes, they’re supposed to set and honor the hours you’re given, however there’s an increasing number of employers who think their employees will work overtime with no regards to work/life balance, which means it will be on every employee to set firm boundaries and let them know that’s unacceptable
It’s a “value based retainer” which means I have to deliver whatever they have outlined … but as we know, things in product marketing aren’t as cut and dry
