You’re in the test phase. They are seeing what you are capable of as you don’t have a track record with them. No partner with a brain would let a 4th year lateral run calls or distribute deliverables without reviewing. People lie during interviews and unless you prove yourself over a period of a few months to a year, they aren’t trusting you around the clients that are their lifeblood in the firm.

This. You’re basically going to need to earn everyone’s trust. You’re an unknown entity. That’s fine. Just do a good job, be easy to work with, and they’ll eventually loosen the reins gradually.
In a similar situation but I actually really like this - my first law firm threw me in front of clients on day one as a first year, no guidance and no feedback, only blaming and yelling when things gone bad. Now I got partners to review and give feedback and take responsibility, I feel I’m in paradise!
This is normal and frustrating
