Do you even want to be an MD though? You should talk to some Y1 and Y2 MDs… the first couple years seem hard from what I’ve observed, and it’s like you become an A all over again but in a different league.
Look at Accenture stock. Do you want to be paid in that?
It depends on how long you have invested in it career wise. Also, how long it will take to get an MD realistically. Finally, is it something you want? And probably age and stage at which you are career wise, will it be a good move? And the start up prospects/upsides are.

FDE is where the jobs are. 2 years don’t mean anything with respect to promotion expectations. I would stay if you want to be MD and in sales role. Maybe Accenture stock will make a great comeback, because that’s what you will be banking on. If you want to be MD and want to stake your career on Accenture, then stay. Otherwise move out. Startups are far risky. But you may or may not become MD at Accenture either. But AI (with correction) is here to stay. It may crash , but the tech and associated roles will be one of the more relevant roles in the short term
So it is really up to you. It will be a career mistake if you wanted to be MD and not go for it.
If your priority is making money then stay at Acc - AI startups are very uncertain and the financial upside of making MD is much surer than the startup, even if it’s somewhere like whisprflow or another super hot company. On the other hand if you want to transition to tech then no brainer imo. Well paying position and a good transition into AI tech which is here to stay.
Post this in the accenture channel. And ask the MDs for advice
Nope. Take it and run
Depends on what you want to do long term. Talk to you sponsor and have a heart to heart to see how far you are from partner. Might be closer/farther than you think.
What’s the startup’s stage, leadership and investors like?
My gut says a bird in hand is worth two in the bush.
Before you leap, did you thoroughly research the startup? Is it solid or a pie-in-the-sky outfit? I ask because I made the mistake of leaping without doing the proper research and lived to regret it.
And what are the chances of making MD at ACN? Do you want that life?
Either way, the choice you make today will manifest itself in the medium term, in terms of benefits.
