I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Best photography courses in LA?
Hi I want to go to Ireland please help
Netcracker Technology Corp. I recently gave interview for the Netcracker Technol.During the initial calls they confirmed my current salary and expected salary. Then they proceeded with the technical rounds and finally HR round was also cleared. They asked me to wait for the offer letter as they required approval from business. After a week when I got no updates on the offer letter i texted them asking about the same. They replied me on the text that the business did not gave approval for the offer. TBC in comment section..

UED1 that boils my blood. The condescending "awww you miss him" ? "I don't know how you do it as a single mom". Meanwhile, I'm a pro at this point (my kids use Google docs and link to my Google calendar) on being a working mom, AND have time to help neighbor mom's who HAVE HUSBANDS (rides home from track/football practice, etc). So please, PSA. If you find out a woman is a working mom, keep your opinion/judgements/comments to yourself. Do not even discuss the topic unless she invites you too. Let's start there. Mind your manners, and mind your business.
Ugh I hate that. I have an infant have to keep repeating that I am good to travel. And when I do travel everyone is like “I bet you miss him and it is hard for you"
I’m already in a position where I travel a lot. Like yes it’s not ideal but it’s a part of my job if I was concerned about it I would’ve mentioned that.
Why is it assumed that a dad with a young child would have no problem traveling? Now that I think about it a Dad would probably never even make this "mistake” and mention their kid at all
That’s the worst feeling! I’ve been to interviews that were essentially just a formality, only to mention I have a toddler and watch the faces drop.
I’m grateful for that now - if you were discounted for daring to be a parent, imagine what the culture would be like! The right role will come along, where having a child is just seen as another part of your life instead of a hindrance to your work.
I’m feeling litigious. Let’s sue them
TBH, if I said I value flexibility and they didn't end up hiring me, they DON'T value it so did you really want the job? I am very upfront about this and it has cost me many jobs but it's basically one of my top priorities and I won't settle.
Needless to say they moved forward with another candidate. I am so mad at myself. We were in talks about salary and I mentioned that while comp. is important I am really evaluating the full package and things like flexibility are of high value to me having a young daughter. It was like the convo came to a screeching halt. BTW this convo was with a woman too
You need what you need and that job wasn’t going to give it to you. Don’t settle!
How are women supposed to rise into leadership positions if we can’t get jobs because we’re mothers? I’m a single mother and realistically can’t travel that often bc I just don’t have the support (or the extra money to pay for care). But that means I can’t move up into leadership, which seems completely fucked up to me. And this a problem even for married mothers. I wish this were part of the 3% conversation
Assholes. Shame on them. Sorry you were subjected to that.
This kind of behavior concerns me as we look to start trying for our first. Worried that talking about something that is such a huge piece of one’s life and a blessing could also cause growth hinderance in another area of my life. Lord help us
I've noticed that my travel has been minimal to none the last couple of years. I know work is just trying to be cognizant of the fact that I am a single mom, but like give me day trips or something. I actually enjoy the travel.
I’m so sorry to hear!!! It shouldn’t be this way. Middle finger to them.
Agreed @SC 1
