I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.

If you are a woman or coming from a minority it’s actually easier to get an interview as they are trying to balance the interview pipeline to achieve DEI OKRs. This doesn’t mean that the bar is going to be lower or interviews are going to be easier, it’s simply that you have more chances of being interviewed, at least in Cloud PSO.
I am, but it doesn’t ask me that while applying.
That's not true! There are a few other ways, you could reach out to a recruiter on LinkedIn, do the foo-bar coding challenge, and even just apply online. If your resume is strong, they'll reach out!
It’s a business role so unfortunately no coding involved. Also having trouble finding the relevant people to reach out to on LinkedIn. I have applied numerous times but no luck. I won’t give up hope though! Thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

I'm walking proof of that. I didn't apply, nor was I referred. They reached out to me via email. A sales recruiter from Google reached out in 2018 right as I transitioned to consulting, and I asked them to update my preferences to PgM or PSO. Forgot all about it, and 3 years later here I am.
Same sourcer reached out to me on LinkedIn
While a referral can certainly help, like the other Googlers have stated, it’s not a mandatory! My biggest advice is to apply for a role you seem overqualified for on paper. You’ll be going up against other candidates doing the same and you want to be the best of that pool.
Thanks for the advice, will do!
Thats been my experience. I applied cold for four years without even a no. When my gf referred me I got three positions, even when none of them worked. I’m in the same boat as you, not a tech background so really hard to get interviewed let alone to reach offer stage.
Not true at all. I found the job on LinkedIn and applied through the Google career site. My recommendation is to apply for positions you’re over qualified for and they will level you appropriately during the interview process.
That’s wonderful advice. Thank you.
Nope! I applied to a different role and a recruiter reached out to me to try applying for a different role so please just as apply! :)
It did take them 1-2 month from applying to reach out so apply as soon as you can!
I got my role by applying online

Impossible? No. Unlikely? Yes. Best chance to find a referral. Will not only help your app get scene but they can help prep you for interviews.
Like other have said, certainly not impossible. I applied 3x with referrals and basically didn’t hear back from any of them except for a “no”. Finally applied to a business role via their site, and a recruiter reached out and said “I saw you applied for X role role X location but would you be interested in X role in Y location?”, and ended up going through the process and getting an offer
I only applied online but it was an internship. I used it to convert then to FTE.
