I read the RCN report today saying 80% of mental health nurses feel their workload is unmanageable. Honestly, it did not surprise me. I had a conversation today where someone said, “It feels unsafe, not just busy.” That is a different kind of pressure. How do you respond when staff are telling you it is not sustainable anymore?

1) Do I keep my internships? My leadership experiences in college?
2) How do I organize my engagement experiences - All combined bullets or separated by client?
3) How about my internal efforts? (I did 3 internal projects within the firm)
4) Education on top or bottom?

Does anyone use Universal Local Campaigns? A client wants supplemental support for specific locations. I’ve never run a ULC campaign targeting a single location - any idea if this would compete with our existing campaigns targeting the same locations (we run campaigns targeting location groups by region)? Advice on taking and passing the SPHR exam?

How long is it recommended to stay in a role so it doesn’t look like job hopping?
I would like to continually increase my income, but 3% merit increases don’t cut it.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

SPHR exam- has anyone ever been “randomly selected” for an application audit? This just happened to me and the sheer amount of effort that is going to go into collecting all the documents almost makes me not want to follow through. Since I didn’t finish undergrad, they’re asking for a copy of my high school diploma or transcript and that itself is going to be an absolute nightmare to get hold of. Guess I’m not really looking for a solution here, just venting.

Am I being paid competitively? I have been the Onboarding Sup for my HR dept for over a year now and I’m being paid the state min for salary, which for CA is 62,400. I have not gotten a merit raise since the last 2 January’s, the state raises the threshold for salary folks. My company says that was my raise. Is this right? I bring a background from the clinical operations of my company, scheduling, field work, and what the average employee faces. I want to look else where but I’m not sure.
