I received my MBA in 2020 (yeah the year of the disaster) with concentration in Accounting/Finance, however, I can't seem to find my footing to even get a 2nd interview. I do have experience as a School District Treasurer for 14 years but that still doesn't help. How can one get experience in this new career field if no one is willing to give them a shot? I've also taken refresher courses through LinkedIn (Bookkeeping for Accounting & Excel for Accounting) thinking that would help.

How to deal with being rejected from a consulting job you want?

We've all been there (not just me I hope). It's so frustrating when the consulting one is a tough hill to climb. Has joining a smaller management consulting firm ever worked out for anyone?

HR is scheduling the interviews without checking time with me. One interview was scheduled and then it was rescheduled to a different time at last minute. I wasn't available at that time so I mailed the HR for a different slot. They again scheduled it for a later date without checking the time with me.

Been here 1.5 years and was told I was getting a management promotion 5-6 months ago.Still no solid traction and they are opening up a req for it 😑no one on the current sales team has ever been promoted (2 years)except our boss who has been promoted 3 times. I accepted an offer a week ago with a great company (Company A) that for this season in my life seems like a great fit and only strengthens what I have to offer company B down the road. Company B just sent me a request for interview and I want to keep the door open with Company B but they were just very late in extending an interview.

Anyone deal with this before: I inherited a severely under developed team including a sr analyst who clearly was doing the bare minimum, if that. Over the last 6 months I have had to coach him and correct simple mistakes in his work and recently it got so bad that I told him he would receive a low rating in his evaluation. He lashed out, involved HR saying he doesn’t understand why, and now my review points out stuff that I would have let slide.
