I recently got offer from Big 4 - Deloitte and Pwc for Manager position and approx same CTC. I have arnd 12Yoe and recently promoted to Manager in my current org Accenture.
Just wanted some insights for Deloitte and Pwc in terms of WLB because I'm a working mother. So my preference is WLB.
TIA!!Accenture Deloitte

I was with Accenture before joining Deloitte (5 and half years now with Deloitte). About to join PwC. Currently Manager at Deloitte. Can't say yet for PwC, but personally Deloitte has been much better than Accenture. Flexibility, growth, culture are awesome. Also, all three has similar career levels. PwC and Deloitte both has - Analyst, Consultant/Associate, Senior Consultant/Senior Associate, Manager, Senior Manager, Director.

I am not. But I am father to a 2 yo. Also I have many colleagues who have joined back post maternity leave. Don't think any of them have faced issues at Deloitte. Post pandemic work pressure is there due to resource crunch, but so is flexibility. Even before pandemic we mostly used to work from home.

If your preference is WLB please avoid BIG4s then.

Accenture 1 - How was ur exp in both?

Both of them are very good companies but regarding wlb they are worst now a days .People are working late night in these organisation .So in my opinion try to look for other option or i would suggest remain in Accenture as you have been promoted so salary will be good and people know you so as a mother you can manage but in big 4 mostly in these you will suffer ... My suggestion is go for IBM as a mother you will manage everything

That's your concern Mam but everyone situation is not like you ...some have a big family or a joint family , everyone is not having a bread & butter on a daily basis . Different people are having a way different situations , if you are doing so thats very good but it should not be a situation for other folks . Thanks for higlighting a point of equality but this didn't work , people are working hard to manage things especially I would say the women. A thing you will will understand this. Thanks a lot for this .

Deloitte manager equivalent to PwC sr manager. Ask for Sr Mgr position in PwC, else join D

WLB depends on projects. Set the expectations with your reporting lead first before onboarding any project. Also, there is an option for choosing reduced workload but comes with a cost (no promo, avg bonus)

like

Please avoid any Big4, the WLB is pathetic, my wife figured it the hard way & is exiting within 2yrs. The brand names & money is good but the work culture & internal politics is very bad in most teams.

like

That's what I'm hearing from my knowns too.

like

PWC is giving wfh to some employees, I guess working moms. You could check with HR.

If not, try IBM and Dell. They are giving wfh.

like

Wlb will be hectic btw depends on team also nd partner under whom u r working. But in a yr for 3 months wlb like... Khair rehne do u will understand.

Seems I have understood from ur comment 😬

Hi Fishes,

Need some suggestions from everyone. I have 4.5 years experience and I was working as contractor in ZS and my CTC in parent company was 7 Lakhs.

ZS were willing to offer me FTE as ZS but at a compensation of meagre 8.5 Lakhs. I tried negotiating but they sticked with this.

How come ZS do that? Why can't they pay more as they generally pay 15+ for 4.5 years experience.
