I recently left big 4 and now working in industry. My prev company had a CPE dashboard and enough free trainings that I did not have to worry about maintaining my CPA license. What is the most affordable option for CPE credits and how do I go about tracking and reporting my CPE credits? Where do I report them to? I live in NY.

You don’t report them - when you renew, you just certify you’ve complied. They also do random audits and will ask for your records for up to 5 years prior.

Free webcasts through the big 4. Search each big4 name and “cpe webcasts” and that should get you there. Most of them you have to catch the live webcast for credit - so its ideal to do this over time.
Fyi KPMGs platform is more annoying to deal with than the others.

I was going to recommend the same thing. EY has tax webcasts every week it seems. They’re generally an hour to an hour and a half long. Easy, cheap CPE

Cpeacademy, pwc deloitte and ey all offer free stuff too

like

I used this when I was in industry. They have enough free/cheap cpe to keep up.

Biggest cost will be the ethics every 3 years, but keep your NYSSCPA membership and that will help.

Ultimately you may have to pay out of pocket if you want to keep your license and your employer isn’t interested.

Pass CPE was online and economic

CPA Academy has enough free credit to keep you compliant. However to some extent, you are incurring cost and paying with your time since you have to account for your CPE one hour at a time.

MyCPE is affordable too.
