Seems on-par for being a college/campus hire, but it should not be that way if you're an experienced hire.
Sounds like failure on their part of you're an experienced hire, brought into a specific field/team
I think there’s a shortage of projects now and oversupply of people. I don’t mind the cross offering projects but just thought it’d be good for me to work and connect with people in my practice before venturing out.
I had the same experience at D! And I’m former ACN so for me D’s culture and way of working was difficult to absorb.
In ACN they usually do practice all hands meet and bring all new joiners on the platform. You are welcome to block time with leadership and connect- as a former ACN I’ll reco, connect with ppl who interviewed you first, your counselor and then with leadership.
Bt trust me, culture and recognition standpoint, ACN is much better (including performance management)
Ping. Ping. Ping.
And throw yourself on peoples calendars. Initiative in a place where all are busy, none know your brand, and you can leave any day so why invest my time - is worth more than you’ll ever know.
Doesn’t matter what firm you’re in. You drive your career.

Don’t judge a company by individuals. Find a way to get what you need
This was my experience when I joined Deloitte…
Might be a common thread amongst these consulting firms?

Yes. ACN is known for sharp elbows and gate keeping. As a new person, there’s no incentive for them to help you and disincentives to stop them. Welcome to the jungle.
What geography or service? I came in as experienced hire from industry. It’ll take some time to build your network but keep at it. What I’ve heard from people going back and forth with D is that D is much more insular and tight knit in a practice. The “One Accenture” is a very true thing - you’ll end up working and finding work across practices, industries, etc as you get acclimated and find where you want to lean in. It’s not ready-made, silver-platter (not that that’s what you’re asking for). Summer can be a bit tricky with people being in and out. Keep at it.
I’m in S&C. Heard from HR there’s an oversupply of people with limited projects, so I guess new joiners are not high on the priority since we don’t really have an accenture track record yet.
