Hi everyone! I am hired as an Analyst - Data Science, and my joining date is 29th July. What can I expect from the role? Also will I have to go to office everyday? American Express
PS- If anyone else is joining on or around the same date, I would love to connect and talk more about it :)

I've worked in similar settings and, like you, felt completely out of place (and disgusted, if I'm being honest). Personally, I had to move on. The role/title was great, as was the pay, but I couldn't stand going to work everyday not being able to respect my colleagues. You have to do what's right for you at the end of the day.
If you can still get your work done the way you want to do it, you may just have to go out of your way to bring it to your supervisor/management since they don't seem to notice your work. I personally would take it as a challenge, what can you learn from the office while you're there, and your new coworkers. Maybe it's a chance to slow down momentarily. My advice is to try and adapt or be ok with doing things your way even if it's not how the rest of the office does things.
I mean...it's not ideal, and I've been in a similar situation. I stuck it out for a year adn then started looking around bc you realize something's won't change. Try to find learning opportunities, but if I were you, I'd start crafting an exit strategy
Yep. Are politics a big factor where you are? At a place I was at that was very similar, office politics played a huge role. It didn't matter how qualified you were for the promotion, it always went to the person who was besties with the manager hiring for the job.
