Are you totally sure you understood correctly? I feel like 401k is something many struggle to fully get and it IS confusing in how things are worded. Maybe they start matching for new employees on day 1 but you're not fully vested in their match amount until 2 years of service
CD3 I think it’s because the cost of health care keeps rising, faster than the overall cost of living. For many companies (not just in advertising) that means every year they are asking employees to shoulder more of the financial burden, often for skimpier coverage. It also impacts companies’ ability to offer raises and/or to hire new employees so that existing employees aren’t doing a job-and-half or two jobs.
We spend nearly 20% of GDP on health care—far more than any other country—for far worse results. We need healthcare reform in this country, badly.
Did you have it in writing? If it ain't in writing, it never happened.
You either have it in writing or you don’t. I hope you do.
Does the letter itself say so? If so you should go see your benefits manager and ask them what you need to do to get it fixed.
If it's not in writing you are likely out of luck. If it is and you handle it with a cool Hess you may be able to get them to concede their mistake.
Double check if the matching kicks in after two years, or if the matching vests after two years. A vesting period is very common. I’ve seen it at Omnicom and IPG agencies.
Matching doesn’t begin until 2 years. Vesting is immediately. I have double checked.
That sounds insane...agree with FCB1 that is more likely when you’re fully vested. If they don’t even START matching until you’re 2 years, yeah I’d maybe go politely inquire about this misunderstanding. Yikes.
This happened to me at WPP. I had it in writing and it still wasn’t honored. It was a permalance to full time situation Good luck 😐
